Our collection of images is large and the subject matter extremely diverse. The
library contains digital images and transparencies. We are
always looking to update and enlarge the files on a regular basis. Images submitted for consideration must be originals or duplicates of the highest quality.
Digital images can be submitted and initial submissions should be as low resolution
jpeg files sent on cd/dvd to the address below. All images must carry full caption information, images will not be edited unless this information is included. High resolution images should be in tiff format (50mb, 300 dpi).
Once low res images have been edited, the photographer is sent the standard Library/Photographer
agreement for signing. When submitting your work, you must
advise us of any restrictions your images may carry. Images of people and properties
should be accompanied by signed model and property release forms.
Contributing photographers are paid a 50% commission on sales of their images. We
do not sell any images outright and the photographer retains the copyright in his/her work.
Fees for use of an image are negotiated with the clients and vary according to
the clients use of the image/s. Commission is paid to the photographer on a quarterly
basis (March, June, September & December). Accompanying the commission payment
is a sales activity report detailing the usage of the images. If sales are not achieved
for the photographer, a report is not sent.
Photographers should endeavour to supply additional images to the library
on a regular basis, the more images a photographer has on the site, increases their
chances of achieving sales. Photographers are issued a code which they can use to search all their images. We ask that they do so on a regular basis and inform the library by email if images are not loading properly or have been incorrectly captioned. Please check your images using the code before contacting DWSPL regarding new images submitted. We receive many emails and responding to each one can take up time which should be spent on servicing our clients and loading new images on the site. All photographers
accepted by the library must sign a four year contract.
Latest 'want' list of images includes: environmental topics, water saving, anything related to climate protection, demonstrations, protests, garden scenes. All submissions
of images for consideration must include return postage. Images should be sent by security mail and addressed to: The Manager
